What impact does a Debt Management Program affect your credit?
Some have been significant changes in the income of family and I have to support two households (my own and my parents) for the moment. This means two mortgages and two set of utility bills. To help me manage this reflection I am joining a DMP to reduce my monthly payments to my unsecured credit. So far I have all my payments on time, but my credit score is lower because I had more debt on my credit cards. This also leads to a high debt to income ratio, making it difficult to get credit for a loan to consolidate my debts. Event also, when I was reading through the DMP said that this material is that I can have a negative effect. My question is how bad the consequences of this will have. Has anyone gone through a DMP? If so, how this affects your credit?
Join a debt management program as an absolute last resort! These sites are non-profit, right? Who do you pay them? Most of them, either directly as a percentage of your payments from you or they take them from your creditors. Anyway, it's your money that funds them. Now, what do they do for you? They contact your creditors, tell them to close your accounts and no new credit not to give to you, and they will ensure that they get paid more money than they would receive from you if you filed bankruptcy. Meanwhile, all your accounts payable report if you are under the Debt Management Services Company. This kills your credit! Nobody will lend to you while in the program, and many lenders will not be suitable for you after you for several years. In many as I would like to work a complete program that would help you, I can not do in a public forum. Feel free to send me an email and I'll give you some advice and assistance I can, on your specific situation, you can help. You can view my profile and contact me from there. Good luck and I hope everything works out for you.
